The background image for this website is one of my favourite memories.  It's one of those "you had to be there to truly appreciate it" kind of shots, but ironically the whole memory was about me being on my own.

It's a shot of looking out to see just before sunrise at Tomaree Head (near Shoal Bay, NSW, Australia).  I'd risen at 4:30am, armed with my camera equipment and a head torch, and made my way up the headland in the dark.

A little bit crazy? Maybe!  However the views from the top as the sun came up, and the whale and bird watching that followed made it well worth the effort and risk.
